Hi,
We’re Leonie and Vic camping (and working) full-time around Australia. The name Livelifecamp reflects exactly what we love doing in life.
We’ve always had the itch to travel around our great country. Having already driven to and camped at fantastic places around Australia, a week or two mostly at a time, even up to six weeks once when all the stars aligned, we developed a real taste for camping. But it’s never long enough to explore each place the way you’d really like to, let alone get to really meet and know the locals. We think a lot of people say they’re going to do it one day. Mostly that one day never comes and before you know, it’s too late to do it the way you want. So in November 2017 we headed off from Bendigo where we had been living and working for two years, three and a half in Melbourne prior to that, and we are both originally from the Adelaide Hills in South Australia.
Far from retired, we have chosen to work from our van and find work at places along the way. Vic develops software and websites and Leonie skills are in administration, events and marketing. We are registered with Aussie House Sitters and Farm Sitters Australia, so if you’re looking for a break, we’d be honoured to look after your place.
Our choice of travel is Peggy, our 2010 Toyota Landcruiser Prado, towing Dusty Dora, a Vista RV Classic, off road camper van. We’ve only had the Vista since January 2017. Prior to that, we’ve been tenting with our trusty Oztent RV-4 which we absolutely love. It’s survived the Simpson Desert, Lake Eyre, many a Victorian high country trip and a big six week stint in the Kimberleys, but full-timing required a bit more comfort and protection from the elements. We wanted something that would go where we wanted to go, which is generally off road and at times remote. We narrowed our choice down to between a Tvan and a Vista. For us, we felt the Vista would be suited better to longer term travel, mainly due to its mostly hard body makeup and quick setup in the event of big wind and rain.
Please say hello and ask a question about this lifestyle on our blog. We hope to meet you on the road some day.
